Prior to 2023, accurate moisture measurements were critical to manage product quality, elimination of losses due to deterioration while in storage, and establishing fair and equitable pricing during purchasing and/or selling of grains, oilseeds and specialty beans that have too much moisture which can lead to a multitude of issues, including mold, mildew, failure to germinate and loss of nutrients or oxygen, whereas grains that have too little moisture will affect how many commodities can be efficiently processed and their ultimate weight. Therefore, all of the grain depot storage facilities, agricultural trade-based merchants, coffee processing facilities and cocoa processing facilities rely on a moisture meter that is both stable and possess the ability to test a wide variety of crops while being easy to use and possessing intelligent capabilities. The SKZ111B-1 PRO are also identified as the LDS-1G Grain Moisture Meter, uses a method of testing by volume weight and comes complete with an automatic temperature compensation system, empty cavity moisture corrections, battery and A/C power supply options, and adaptability to a wide variety of crops. Designed to measure moisture within a range of 3% to 35%, can measure 33 different types of grains including both specialty coffee and specialty cocoa beans, and also offer an optional menu version which can provide even more capabilities.
