SKZ111D Hay Moisture Meter: Precision Testing Tool for Agricultural & Biomass Materials

Dec 01, 2025

The moisture content of a plant material determines its quality, stability during storage, and its value as a source of energy and nutrients; therefore, knowing your plant material's moisture content is essential for agricultural production (growing and harvesting), livestock production, and production of energy using biomass from plant materials. When plant materials have excessive moisture, they become moldy or rotten; however, when they have insufficient moisture, they may lose their nutritional value or fail to combust properly. With the SKZ111D Hay Moisture Meter, the agriculture industry can rapidly and accurately measure their plant materials' moisture content. This product has been designed with a combination of the latest technological innovations and a user-friendly design, thus providing the farmer, rancher, biomass producer, or produce inspector with the tools necessary to make informed decisions about plant material use.

Using Our Advanced Technology To Provide Unmatched Accuracy and Durability

The SKZ111D sets a new standard for moisture measurement using the highest frequency technology. With a frequency of more than ten megahertz, SKZ111D measures through dense fibrous materials such as hay bales or straw bales, thus allowing for accurate measurement of the internal moisture content without using the surface of the material. Traditional moisture measurement methods are often slow and generate a high percentage of inaccurate results. The rapid detection associated with the use of a high-frequency meter allows for the ease and efficiency of measuring moisture content in high-volume operations, such as farms and warehouses.

The sensor probe of the SKZ111D is made of 316L stainless steel and PTFE, offering a key benefit for measuring moisture content in plant materials. The 316L stainless steel is highly lagnoping; it is highly resistant to corrosive acids and enzyme activities found in plant materials. The PTFE coating offers excellent abrasion resistance, making it ideal for conditions where sticky residues, such as those found on sugar cane waste and moist tobacco leaves, build up. This combination of materials makes the SKZ111D highly durable. Additionally, by having up to ten adjustable switch settings, the user can adjust for the wide range of densities and textures in different plant materials, thus eliminating the inaccuracies commonly associated with moisture meters.
